The Walking Eye & The Walking Dead

Our friends at The Walking Eye podcast are having a fundraiser to keep new episodes coming, fund an upcoming con, and help produce new episodes from con. If you help out you get a special Dungeon World mini-class, The Walking Dead. Sometimes when you come back from Death’s Black Gates you come back… changed. Of [...]

State of the Dungeon World

How was 2011 for Dungeon World? Very good, in fact. Total sales between the PDF and hardcopy were 555. That does not include the app, which has sold 134 in a shorter timeframe (just over a month). Overall it’s been a ridiculously succesful first year for us. 2012 is looking even better.

Legends and Lore 2011 Wrapup

Monte’s Legends and Lore post this week is a wrapup of all the Legends and Lore posts this year. You can find a similar list of all my Indies and More posts here.

Triple Post

Today I finally caught up with Monte Cook’s Legends & Lore posts covering A Different Way to Slice the Pie, What Can You Do?, and The Temperature of the Rules. Apps Are Go

The Dungeon World Basic and Powers for Good Issue #0 apps are both live. Both feature full game texts in a format designed for mobile devices that puts the entire game at your fingertips. Dungeon World Basic includes audio examples from The Walking Eye while Powers for Good has developer commentary throughout the text. Both [...]

Delayed (Again)

I know people are probably tired of hearing excuses, and I’m tired of giving them, but the Powers For Good app was finally rejected on the ground of its icon, of all things. Since I want to launch the apps side by side that means another delay. Damn!

One Cool Thing I Saw At Go Play Northwest

I know this is ridiculously late, but I wanted to share one cool thing I saw at Go Play Northwest: Story Games Portrait Cards. The basic idea is: not everyone can draw their character. So this handy deck of CC-licensed portraits is a handy way to show everyone what your character looks like. They’re especially [...]

The Latest

The latest in the ongoing app approval saga: yesterday Dungeon World Basic was approved! Unfortunately, I immediately went to download it and found a bug that I just can’t let slide. My day job is software testing and I can’t believe I let this slip. Since I’m blazing a new trail here, I want the [...]

“Waiting for Review”

Based on the current status of the Dungeon World Basic and Powers for Good: Issue 0 apps, they may not make Monday’s planned launch. I’ll post here as things develop, but it looks like turnaround is slow right now.

Twitter Updates

  • The fact that @titus_ndronicus just tweeted about Alan Moore Swamp Thing says a lot about why I like that band. 6 hours ago
  • But I can't find a single online source that mentions any relation between the movies. Huh. 18 hours ago
  • Just watched A Better Life. Wonderful movie, highly recommended. I felt like it was heavily inspired by The Bicycle Thieves. 18 hours ago
  • Just figured out the next game I want to play. Y: The Last Man-inspired Apocalypse World. 20 hours ago
  • Well, @twylightdawns just found the big bad guy by getting drunk with some goblins, since that's one of her class features. 22 hours ago
