Sales: April 2012
Adam and I like to be as open about Dungeon World as we can be (making it CC-BY, putting it on Github, etc.) so I always make a point of sharing our sales data when I get a chance. As of the last time we collected data (the end of April) we had sold a total of 805 copies between print and PDF. Considering that the print version only got two print runs of 100 copies each, that’s pretty great.
On top of that, April was one of the best months we’ve had since the boom of the initial release. That’s likely in no small part due to some kind words from Mr. Monte Cook. Now we’re starting to look forward to plans for the full edition, which is coming along nicely.

How do the number of copies you’ve sold compare to the number of folks who have joined the Adventurer’s Guild? Partly I’m wondering if you are able to track new Guild memberships in replation to copies sold.
Currently there are 263 Guild Members. Of those, 104 bought the PDF from our site. I would guess they account for many of our physical sales too. Even if all 159 of them have given us no money they more than cover their access with useful feedback and support.
