Dungeon World Basic For Sale
Dungeon World Basic sold like crazy at GenCon and PAX, but we still have some copies left, so we’re making the hard copy available to the internet.
Starting at 8AM PDT (Noon EDT) Monday September 5th we will be making the remaining copies of Dungeon World Basic available directly from the Dungeon World web site. We have a limited number of copies and we do not intend to print again, so you might want to order early. The exact price is still being determined, but it’ll be a little over $20 (to cover shipping). The package is the exact same as what we offered at GenCon and PAX: the 124 page book, a set of playbooks, and a GM’s pin. If you want them signed you’ll have to settle for just my signature, Adam probably won’t be able to make it down to sign books.
We’re also happy to announce that we have a bricks-and-mortar retailer selling the game: our friends at Gamma Ray Games in Seattle. They have a few copies too, if you happen to be able to swing by.

Are you planning on releasing a physical book for the full version of Dungeon World when it’s complete? If so, what’s the expected release timeframe? I’m trying to decide whether to try to snatch up DW Basic now or whether to just use the DW Hack rules until the full DW rules are released. Will the full version include everything the Basic version does, plus more, or are there things included in the Basic version that won’t be in the full version?

The full version will be in print,. The timeline is uncertain, but I’d guess sometime spring-to-summer 2012.
The full book will have everything the Basic game does EXCEPT the adventure which I think is really quite cool. That said, we’re not trying to maximize profit, just keep up with demand. If you only want one book, wait for the full game.
Will there be a PDF of Dungeon World Basic for sale at any point?
Yes, we will add a PDF-only option which will be available until the final version is done.
