Dungeon World (Again)

We’ve made one last big change to Dungeon World, hopefully from here on out its edits and tweaks. After a lot of thought, we’ve moved basic damage from weapons to classes. The basic idea is that a fighter with a dagger is still dangerous, while a wizard with a masterwork axe is not.

Weapons of course still play an important role. Tags are better than ever, and that’s how weapons matter. Your dagger is only hand range, which is great when you’re in the purple worm’s gullet, but not so great when you’re fighting off a giant. That hammer is +1 damage, but do you really want the extra weight?

Overall, it’s a change I’m pretty confident in. It doesn’t change the mathematics of damage, and it still allows for finding cool items which are important to how you survive in dungeon world. It just means that the Thief can specialize in daggers without that being “sub-optimal.” Go, read it, and let me know what you think.
